Original Dandy Campers
The Dandy Camper made its first appearance in 1965 at the Belle Vue camping exhibition, Manchester. With its unique all-weather fabric, innovative design and construction it was an immediate success and the story of the ‘Dandy’ caravan had begun. Through the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, Dandy campers enjoyed unparalleled success and to keep up with demand over eight hundred units a year were being produced for both the UK and European markets.
The Dandy Caravan had become one of the most established and well known brands on the folding camper market.
In 2003 Riva Leisure Products was formed by existing employees to carry on the Dandy tradition into the 21st Century. The introduction of radical new designs was implemented and a new model range introduced, which included the Riva Dandy Dart, Riva Dandy Destiny, Riva Dandy Dimension, Riva Dandy Designer and the Riva Dandy Destiny which has since been discontinued. Today, the company no longer manufactures the Riva Dandy range but due to the demand from Dandy camper enthusiasts and the new breed of ‘Campers’ who are enjoying the freedom of ‘getting away from it all’ Riva Leisure Ltd. buys and restores old Dandy campers to new condition, refurbishes treasured Dandy caravans and supplies replacement parts and accessories for those who use their Dandy to enjoy the outdoor life.
